- Parents are responsible for providing an instrument and book for their child. We will be a using new book this year! Sound Innovations: for String Orchestra. Please make sure it is for the appropriate instrument.
- Highly recommend a tuner because we are all at home. Either a physical one or an app on your smartphone.
- Shoulder rest “Kuhn” or “Everest” (or like company) for violin/violas.
- Rosin for each student
- Cello stop for cellos only
- Extra strings are recommended for violin and viola. 1-A strings and 1- D strings
- A folding music stand is suggested
Music supplies and instrument rentals/purchases may be obtained from the following stores in our area. Playing on the correct size instrument is very important. Do not take a short cut and buy an instrument that is too big. I will be asking you to return it for the correct size. The specialists at the stores will help you determine what size to get for your child.
